Web Scientist

The web is changing at a rate that may be greater than even the most knowledgeable researcher’s ability to observe it*

I am currently a member of the Web and Internet Science (WAIS) Research Group at University of Southampton on a PhD Research Scholarship funded by and in partnership with the Centre for Doctoral Training at University of Southampton & Defence Science Technology Laboratory, Ministry of Defence.

My research examines the application of the SU Web Observatory framework towards the development of a categorisation model for identifying the potential information yield from sub-populations of the web. A great way of describing this is the creation of a geology map of the web.

My PhD Supervisors are Professor Les Carr (Electronics and Computer Science) and Dr Jennifer Holland (Social Statistics & Demography).
